Information:
The 600 Year Old Oak was growing before Christopher Columbus arrived in America
and came from a storm-damaged tree near Sacramento, California. The tree was locally famous
and I read a newspaper article in the Sacramento Bee that described the tree
and its demise. This piece has lots of character including wild looking figure,
spalt
that creates contrasting colors, and worm damage that left bore holes filled
with worm poop.
This
folder has a nice curved arched shape and a "beefy" heavy duty
thicker frame
for added strength. The frame
liners have several holes drilled out for optimum balance.
