The Buckeye
Burl comes from a burl stump found in the southern Sierra foothills
in California. This piece of Buckeye Burl has been
dyed turquoise blue to bring out the nice
swirly figure and contrasting colors. The spalt
present in this piece of wood created the gray colors and
contrasts very
well with the yellowish
colors
in
the Buckeye
Burl.
The Box Elder Burl comes from a storm-damaged tree that was part of the original trees planted during the Mormon migration to Utah. This particular piece has been dyed red to bring out the figure, character and birdseye of the Box Elder Burl.
