Information:
The 6,000 Year Old Swamp Kauri was growing during the ice age when
Woolly Mammoths were roaming and was buried by
natural cataclysmic events. This Swamp Kauri is the oldest workable
timber on Earth. The tree was discovered by a utility company
which were preparing to install utility poles and they came across a
huge Kauri tree buried in the ground in New Zealand. The tree was
removed and pieces were sent for carbon-dating and these were
determined to be around 6,000 years old. This particular piece of
Swamp Kauri has nice blonde swirly 3-D chatoyance
figure.
The
English Walnut comes from a storm-damaged tree in Northern
California. This particular piece has nice figure
and contrasting stripes and provides a nice contrast to the Swamp
Kauri,
