Information:
The Woolly Mammoth Ivory is from Siberia. This particular piece has
been lightly dyed green to complement the Turquoise inlaid in the
Oosik bolsters.
Walrus Oosik is the penile bone of an ancient bull walrus (there is a bit of folklore, mana and mojo associated with Oosik, as you can imagine). The Walrus Oosik came from Siberian Yupik Eskimo Alaska Natives living on St. Lawrence Island. This piece is from the interior of the bone and has exposed cells. I embedded the exposed cells with crushed Turquoise which complements the green Mammoth Ivory nicely.
