Information:
The Rimu Burl came from a retired wood-turner from the North Island of New
Zealand. This particular fellow collected one-of-a-kind pieces of wood
throughout his career and I was luckily able to buy some pieces from his
private stash.
Rimu is one of New Zealand's ancient trees and also goes by the name of Red Pine. This particular piece of Rimu is from a burl and is exquisite and has very intense swirly figure throughout. The Curly Eucalyptus is from a storm-damaged tree on the North Island of New Zealand near Tongariro National Park. This piece of Curly Eucalyptus has is lightly curled throughout and provides a nice contrast to the Rimu Burr. |
